TL;DR

  • Coincheck will stop accepting Blood Crystal deposits and NFT-marketplace activity on August 20, before ending BC trading and outbound transfers on August 26.
  • The exchange cited weaker project continuity and market liquidity, while Japan's crypto industry association listed no other registered domestic venue for BC as of July 15.
  • CoinGecko showed BC trading only on Coincheck, with about $41 in 24-hour volume and a market capitalization near $16,000 when reviewed.
  • Customers who do not sell or transfer before the cutoff cannot initiate their own transaction afterward; Coincheck says it will manage remaining BC and handle return requests for five years.

TOKYO, August 6, 2026

Coincheck will stop trading and external withdrawals of Blood Crystal, or BC, at 2 p.m. Japan time on August 26 after citing the gaming token’s project-continuity and liquidity problems, a cutoff that leaves holders without another registered Japanese exchange, according to industry-association data.

The immediate deadline arrives sooner. The exchange plans to stop external deposits, BC-denominated activity on Coincheck NFT and new lending applications at 2 p.m. on August 20, then end broker and exchange trading, plus external transfers, six days later. The dates are subject to change, Coincheck said.

BC’s small market makes the notice unusually consequential for its remaining users. CoinGecko’s Blood Crystal page showed a price near $0.00001898, a market capitalization of roughly $16,000 and about $41 in 24-hour turnover when reviewed on August 6. Its market table listed Coincheck as the sole exchange and BC/JPY as the active pair.

The Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association separately identified Coincheck as the member ending BC support and said no other domestic registered exchange provider handled the token as of July 15. That does not prove an overseas venue or onchain route is unavailable, but it means a Japanese customer cannot simply switch to another locally registered platform listed by the association.

Coincheck said in its official notice that it monitors disclosure, development and liquidity across the assets it supports, and determined that continued BC service was inappropriate because of the project’s continuity and declining market liquidity. The notice did not disclose a customer count, the value of BC held on the platform or a specific event behind its assessment.

Coincheck’s Blood Crystal Cutoffs Start August 20

Coincheck’s schedule separates the first service restrictions from the final trading cutoff. From August 20 at 2 p.m. Japan time, the company plans to stop accepting incoming BC and halt BC-denominated listings and offers in its NFT marketplace. It also plans to stop new BC lending applications.

Existing BC in the lending service will be recalled after that time. Coincheck says it expects to move lending-account balances to customers’ trading accounts on August 21, after which the same August 26 sell-or-transfer deadline applies.

At 2 p.m. on August 26, Coincheck plans to end BC trading in both its broker and exchange services, and to disable transfers to external wallets. Customers who want to control the transaction themselves must sell before the trading deadline or complete an outbound transfer before that transfer deadline, the company said.

The distinction is important because the availability of a wallet address does not extend Coincheck’s service window. A BC deposit sent after August 20 will not be credited to the customer’s account, the notice said. An account balance that remains after August 26 will not offer a self-directed trade or withdrawal function.

Coincheck said it will retain and manage remaining BC, and will respond to customer requests to return it to a specified address for five years from the delisting date. It warned that it may no longer return the token after August 26, 2031. That arrangement is not a replacement for liquid trading or a guarantee of a sale price.

BC Liquidity Data Shows Why the Delisting Is Material

Blood Crystal is tied to Eternal Crypt, a blockchain game. Coincheck’s currency outline says the token was issued as a game-play reward and can be used for adventurer NFTs, in-game items, mining-power recovery and proficiency upgrades.

The token began trading on Coincheck’s exchange in October 2024, according to the company’s listing announcement. It was therefore available for less than two years before the planned removal. Coincheck’s current exchange-assets FAQ still lists BC, reflecting a service that remains available only until the scheduled cutoff.

The available data show a thin market rather than a sudden, quantified trading shock. CoinGecko put BC about 99.98% below its historical peak and showed a new low near $0.00001268 in the current market record. Its displayed 24-hour volume was about $41 when checked, a figure too small to treat as a reliable estimate of how much every holder can sell without moving the price.

The domestic-venue finding adds a practical constraint. JVCEA’s July notice said no other Japanese registered provider offered BC. A holder considering a transfer must independently verify wallet compatibility, receiving-venue support, transaction costs and whether any alternative market has meaningful executable liquidity. None of those conditions is established by Coincheck’s return-request policy.

Low-liquidity exits can also be hard to read from a quoted price alone. A displayed reference price does not guarantee a buyer at that level, especially where a single venue accounts for the reported market. The planned delisting may reduce the most visible domestic route to price discovery, even if the token remains technically transferable elsewhere.

This is distinct from a broader exchange closure. In July, Exchange Art said it would shut its Solana NFT marketplace, an example of how platform wind-downs can affect an asset’s access points without automatically destroying the underlying blockchain asset. BC holders face a more concentrated version of that issue because the Japanese industry body identified no domestic replacement venue.

Blood Crystal Holders Face a Self-Directed Exit Decision

The coin’s small size does not make the dates optional. Coincheck’s planned restrictions affect deposits, lending, NFT use, trading and transfers on different days, so holders should identify which service holds their BC before attempting any action. The notice does not say that Coincheck will automatically sell the asset for customers.

Customers with BC in a lending account face the earliest operational step: Coincheck expects to return it to a trading account on August 21. Customers using Coincheck NFT face an August 20 stop for new listings and offers, with existing listings and offers set to be canceled by the platform on that date.

The broader crypto backdrop remains cautious. Bitcoin was near $64,400 on August 6, while the Crypto Fear and Greed Index read 25, or Extreme Fear. Those market-wide readings do not explain BC’s delisting, but they add context to a period in which small-token liquidity and exit routes can be especially fragile.

The next concrete dates are August 20 for the first restrictions and August 26 for the trading and transfer cutoff. Coincheck has not said how many BC holders are affected, what value remains on the platform or whether its dates will change. Until then, the confirmed point is narrow but urgent: Coincheck is ending support for BC after citing continuity and liquidity concerns, and the Japanese exchange-registry notice lists no domestic alternative.
