MIAMI, Aug. 4, 2026
American Bitcoin said it ended the second quarter with about 8,002 BTC, up 14% from March, after mining a record 932 Bitcoin and producing about $67 million in revenue as Bitcoin traded near $64,000 on Aug. 4.
The Trump-linked, Hut 8 majority-owned miner said the increase added about 981 BTC to its reserve in three months. Its release also said about 3,090 BTC of the June 30 balance was pledged for miner purchases under agreements with Bitmain.
The report is a fresh operating marker after American Bitcoin’s July ABTC reverse split, which changed the stock’s share count but not its Bitcoin reserve. The company said satoshis per share, a measure of Bitcoin attributable to each common share, rose about 11% in the quarter as the reserve grew faster than shares outstanding.
The market setting remained cautious. CoinGecko data showed Bitcoin at roughly $64,088 on Aug. 4, up from about $63,529 at the end of Aug. 3 but still below its $65,156 July 23 close. American Bitcoin said its own mining revenue per Bitcoin slipped 5% quarter over quarter to about $71,900 as Bitcoin’s price fell about 12% in Q2, while its cost to mine held near $36,500.
In the company’s Aug. 3 release, Chief Executive Mike Ho said American Bitcoin had “delivered our highest quarterly production on record.” The statement describes an operating result, rather than a new target or a forecast for future Bitcoin purchases.
The reserve growth separates American Bitcoin from a pure treasury vehicle. It mined about 932 BTC in Q2, compared with 817 BTC in Q1, and said its quarter-end owned fleet comprised about 89,242 miners with 28.1 exahashes per second of capacity. The release did not break out whether the remainder of the reserve increase beyond mined output came from purchases, timing differences or other balance-sheet activity.

BTCAmerican Bitcoin’s Reserve Rose 14% to 8,002 BTC
American Bitcoin’s stated 8,002 BTC balance was up from about 7,021 BTC at the end of March. The 981-BTC increase equates to about 14%, while the company said shares outstanding rose about 3% over the same period.
The pledged portion is important when reading the headline reserve number. The company said the approximately 3,090 BTC tied to Bitmain miner-purchase agreements remained part of the reported holding balance, but it is subject to those agreements rather than fully unencumbered treasury liquidity.
American Bitcoin completed full energization of about 11,298 next-generation miners in April, adding about 3.05 EH/s at 13.5 joules per terahash at Hut 8’s Drumheller site, according to the release. Its operational fleet reached about 25.0 EH/s at an average efficiency of 14.1 J/TH after the deployment.
That expansion helps explain why the company can build a reserve through production while also carrying equipment obligations. It also keeps the business tied to power, machines and financing risks that are different from simply buying spot Bitcoin, an issue facing miners pursuing more capital-intensive AI data-center plans.
Record Mining Added 932 BTC as Revenue Reached $67M
American Bitcoin reported about $67.0 million in Q2 mining revenue, compared with $62.1 million in Q1. The 8% revenue gain tracked the rise in production to 932 BTC, even as revenue per Bitcoin mined declined from about $76,000 to $71,900.
Its gross margin remained near 50%, the company said. General and administrative expense rose to about $7.7 million from $6.9 million, while the average cost to mine increased slightly to roughly $36,500 per Bitcoin from $36,200.
The figures show the pressure point for a production-led treasury strategy. Higher output can grow the Bitcoin reserve, but the dollar revenue earned per coin still depends on the spot price, network conditions and energy costs. The company did not disclose a Q2 Bitcoin-sale program in the release.
That distinction has become more visible across listed Bitcoin vehicles. Strategy’s recent sale of 1,638 BTC to support its reserve and preferred-stock obligations showed how an operating or capital structure can shape a company’s Bitcoin decisions even when it retains a large reserve.
Pledged Bitcoin and ABTC’s Per-Share Test
For ABTC shareholders, the company framed the quarter through satoshis per share as well as the total reserve. It put the figure at about 10,989 satoshis on June 30, up from about 9,943 on March 31. The calculation uses the post-split common-share count, so it should not be compared mechanically with pre-July per-share figures.
The company said Q2 production represented about 26% of all Bitcoin it has mined since launching on March 31, 2025. That pace makes fleet uptime and equipment delivery central to whether the reserve can keep growing without new outside purchases.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index read 25, or Extreme Fear, on Aug. 4. The index is not a measure of American Bitcoin’s operating performance, but it captures the risk-sensitive environment surrounding companies whose revenue and reserves are both exposed to Bitcoin.
Fear & Greed Index
Aug. 4, 2026The next disclosure will show whether American Bitcoin adds to its reserve, changes the Bitcoin pledged for miner purchases or gives further detail on production after the Drumheller energization. The Aug. 3 release provides the quarter-end baseline, but it does not set a schedule for future mining output, treasury activity or equipment financing.
