TL;DR

  • Strategy reported $19.53 billion in Q3 net income, including $20.91 billion in digital-asset gains.
  • Revenue fell 3% to $125.4 million; accounting gains do not represent cash collected from customers.
  • STRC daily dividends begin in November, while CFO Andrew Kang steps down November 5.

TYSONS CORNER, Va., October 30, 2026

Strategy reported $19.53 billion in third-quarter net income on October 29 as $20.91 billion in Bitcoin-related gains lifted earnings, putting its treasury exposure at the center of results ahead of a November dividend change and CFO departure.

The results cover the three months ended September 30. The company also updated its capital position through October 25, making the release a combination of quarterly financial statements and more recent treasury disclosures. Those dates should be kept separate when assessing its cash resources and Bitcoin holdings.

Bitcoin closed its October 29 UTC session at $77,780.33, down 4.27%, after trading between $77,699 and $81,999, according to ChartExchange’s historical prices. That broader market decline is context for the report, rather than evidence that Strategy’s results caused Bitcoin to fall.

Strategy’s Q3 profit reflects Bitcoin accounting gains

In its earnings release, Strategy reported operating income of $20.91 billion, roughly matching the quarter’s digital-asset gain at the disclosed precision. Revenue fell 3% from a year earlier to $125.4 million. The scale of the profit therefore reflects the Bitcoin portfolio rather than comparable growth in customer sales.

Strategy measures Bitcoin at fair value, recognizing changes in its market value in earnings. A higher carrying value can produce a substantial reported gain without a corresponding sale of the coins. The gain should not be read as cash newly available to distribute or spend.

Net income attributable to common stockholders was $19.12 billion after preferred dividends, with diluted earnings per share of $44.75. The distinction between total profit and profit attributable to common holders reflects the claims of the preferred securities used in the company’s financing structure.

The latest result reverses the direction of Strategy’s $8.22 billion second-quarter loss. Both quarters illustrate how Bitcoin valuation changes can dominate the income statement. A profitable quarter does not remove the possibility that a later price decline will reverse part of those accounting gains.

That sensitivity also limits what the September results say about conditions in late October. Quarter-end accounting measures a defined reporting period. Subsequent market moves affect the next period and cannot simply be folded into the already completed quarter.

STRC daily dividends change payment timing

Strategy’s October 28 approval filing said the required shareholder vote had been obtained on preliminary results. The change moves the company beyond the daily-dividend proposal announced in September, when approval was still pending.

The company lists November 1 as STRC’s first daily record date and November 2 as its first payment date. STRF, STRK and STRD follow with January 1 record dates and January 4 payments. The filing makes the schedule subject to the amended certificates being filed and effective.

Calendar-day accrual includes weekends and holidays, while payments follow a business-day schedule. For shares cleared through DTC, holiday record dates move to the preceding business day, so buying on a Friday does not automatically earn that weekend’s distributions.

The September proposal specified that the amendments would leave dividend rates and overall obligations unchanged. A more frequent payment schedule changes when investors receive money; it does not, by itself, increase the annual income attached to a share or create a dividend for MSTR common stock.

Chief Executive Phong Le said in the release that the shareholder approval allowed investors to accrue dividends throughout the calendar year. That is a change in security terms and distribution mechanics, rather than evidence that the preferred shares have become tokenized or trade continuously.

The financing question remains separate from the payment calendar. Accounting income, cash balances and funds raised through securities issuance serve different roles. Investors assessing dividend coverage need the cash resources and obligations behind the distribution, alongside the headline earnings figure.

CFO transition follows Strategy’s treasury update

Strategy reported 848,517 BTC as of October 25, up 26% year to date, and $5.07 billion in USD Assets. It said those assets provided approximately 3.4 years of dividend and interest coverage. That is management’s coverage measure, rather than a guarantee that financing needs or distributions will remain constant.

The company also disclosed approximately $431.8 million in Bitcoin sales during 2026 to fund part of its preferred dividends and STRC buybacks. This gives a concrete example of the difference between recording a valuation gain and converting assets into money for corporate obligations.

Andrew Kang will step down as CFO on November 5 and remain an adviser through December 31. Le assumes responsibility for the finance organization during the transition. Reza Virasteh becomes CFO January 1, serving as co-principal financial officer alongside Le, who retains financial oversight of the Bitcoin strategy.

The Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index stood at 30, or Fear, when checked October 30, down from 51 the previous day. The measure describes broader sentiment and does not establish demand for Strategy’s preferred shares.

The next dated milestones are STRC’s November dividend transition and Kang’s November 5 departure. Later results will show how subsequent Bitcoin prices, financing activity and distributions change the balance between reported earnings and cash available to meet obligations.
