TL;DR

  • Core Scientific reported $232.9 million in third-quarter revenue, including $215.4 million from colocation.
  • Colocation accounted for approximately 92.5% of revenue, while self-mining revenue fell to $12.3 million.
  • A non-cash warrant gain boosted net income; billed capacity and customer concentration remain key operating measures.

MIAMI, November 5, 2026

Core Scientific reported third-quarter revenue of $232.9 million on November 5, with AI-focused colocation supplying about 92.5% of sales as the former Bitcoin mining heavyweight shifts its business toward data centers.

The Miami-based company generated $215.4 million from colocation, nearly 60% more than the previous quarter, according to its earnings announcement. It was billing customers for 485 megawatts of capacity at September 30, compared with 395 MW at June 30.

Total revenue rose about 42% sequentially and 187% from a year earlier, calculated from the reported figures. Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization reached $133.6 million, while net income of $1.178 billion benefited from a non-cash warrant gain. Those measures describe different aspects of performance and should not be treated as interchangeable operating profits.

Chief Executive Adam Sullivan attributed the improvement to capacity delivery, saying the company was approaching completion under its first colocation agreement while construction under its second was proceeding across five campuses.

Bitcoin’s November 4 UTC close was $80,428.30, up 3.998%, according to ChartExchange historical data. That provides the mining-market backdrop, rather than evidence that Bitcoin’s price caused the company’s colocation growth.

Core Scientific colocation reaches 92.5% of revenue

The revenue mix is the clearest evidence of the transition. Dividing colocation sales by consolidated revenue produces a share of roughly 92.5%, compared with about 83.2% in Q2. These are calculations using the company’s financial statements, not separately reported company metrics.

Its second-quarter results showed $136.7 million in colocation revenue and $164.2 million in total revenue. By mid-July, billed capacity had reached 437 MW, showing that the September figure reflects further delivery after the previous earnings update.

Colocation means supplying the infrastructure that houses customers’ computing equipment, including power, cooling and facility services. It differs from earning Bitcoin by running mining machines for the company’s own account. Contracts and completed capacity become more important to revenue visibility as the balance changes.

The latest earnings follow the AMD capacity agreement covered in July. That earlier announcement concerned future infrastructure commitments; the new figures measure revenue already recognized and capacity already billing.

The official AMD partnership announcement described more than 500 MW of U.S. capacity beginning in 2027, with an opportunity to expand to 2.5 gigawatts. The expansion option should not be counted as fully delivered infrastructure or current-quarter revenue.

Bitcoin mining shrinks as CoreWeave concentration persists

Core Scientific’s third-quarter Form 10-Q reports self-mining revenue of $12.263 million, down from $21.535 million in Q2 and $57.438 million a year earlier. Hosted mining generated another $5.171 million.

Together, the two mining businesses supplied about $17.4 million, or 7.5% of sales. The filing says the company is winding down self-mining and expects hosted-mining operations to conclude by December 31, 2026. It says it is not buying new mining equipment to maintain or expand its mining hash rate.

That makes the earnings a different development from simply announcing another AI partnership. The remaining mining fleet is being managed for cash generation during the transition, rather than positioned for a new expansion cycle.

The shift also changes counterparty exposure. The filing says current colocation revenue comes entirely from CoreWeave, which represented approximately 84% of consolidated revenue over the first nine months. That nine-month percentage uses a different period from the 92.5% Q3 colocation share.

AMD and the additional cloud counterparty offer potential diversification as future capacity comes online, but future leases do not remove today’s customer concentration. The distinction is relevant across the sector, including Riot’s long-term Rockdale AI lease, where contracted capacity also depends on construction and delivery.

CORZ profit requires a warrant and spending check

The $1.178 billion net-income figure does not mean customers paid that amount for AI services. Changes in warrant valuations can create large accounting gains or losses as the share price changes, without matching cash receipts from operations.

The company separately reports adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure that excludes specified items. It can help compare operating periods, but it does not replace net income or measure the cash left after building data centers and servicing debt.

Capital expenditures reached $985.1 million during Q3. Cash and equivalents stood at approximately $803.9 million at September 30, while the broader $1.744 billion liquidity-and-reserve measure also includes restricted cash, digital assets and revolver availability. The broader total is not all unrestricted cash.

The filing identifies power delivery, utility approvals, permitting and equipment lead times as constraints on expansion. Some equipment and materials have lead times exceeding 12 months, so signed commitments alone cannot establish when new sites will begin billing.

The next operating checkpoints are additional billed megawatts, the completion of hosted mining and the start of future customer contracts. The current disclosures show a substantially changed revenue mix; the timing and economics of the remaining buildout still depend on delivery.
