NEW YORK, July 18, 2026
Galaxy Digital has launched a Morpho-based vault offering through Fireblocks Earn, giving more than 2,400 institutional clients a route to deploy idle stablecoin balances into curated onchain strategies while Bitcoin traded near $63,957 and crypto sentiment remained in extreme fear.
The product, called Galaxy Curator, is aimed at asset managers, corporate treasuries and other professional holders that already use Fireblocks for approvals, transaction signing and policy controls. Galaxy’s July 16 announcement says the vaults sit on Morpho and that assets remain at the protocol level, rather than becoming a new Galaxy custody account.
The market backdrop remains cautious. CoinGecko’s Bitcoin page showed Bitcoin near $63,957 on July 18, with about $26.2 billion in 24-hour volume, while Alternative.me’s Crypto Fear and Greed Index was 25, or Extreme Fear. For institutions holding dollars onchain between settlements or deployments, that is the balance Galaxy is trying to address: earn a return without having to operate a separate DeFi desk.
Galaxy said its institutional platform had an average $1.4 billion loan book from Dec. 31 through March 31, more than $3 billion of staked assets across five custodian integrations, and a distribution network of more than 1,600 institutional counterparties as of March 31. The company has not disclosed deposits in the new vaults, their capacity, target returns or a guarantee against losses.
The launch gives a recognizable institutional wrapper to a lending protocol that has already been drawing capital and operators. In June, Morpho’s $175 million funding round framed onchain credit as a competition over integrations, risk controls and distribution, not just token liquidity.

BTCGalaxy Curator Puts Morpho Vaults Inside Fireblocks Earn
The commercial pitch is operational rather than technical. Galaxy says a Fireblocks client can use the same workflow it already applies to treasury and custody activity, instead of setting up separate wallet permissions, signing procedures and internal governance for direct protocol use.
Fireblocks Earn is the distribution channel, Morpho is the lending infrastructure, and Galaxy is the curator that chooses and monitors the markets. The separation is material. A curator’s role is to set collateral standards, exposure limits and monitoring practices, while the protocol supplies the underlying market contracts and Fireblocks provides the client-facing controls.
In the announcement, Galaxy said the assets stay at the protocol level and users do not delegate control. That does not eliminate risk. The company separately warns that the strategies involve market, smart-contract and liquidity risk, which means the offering should not be confused with a bank deposit, a money-market fund or a fixed-income product.
The company introduced two configurations. Quality Vaults allocate stablecoin liquidity only to markets backed by blue-chip collateral and treat capital preservation as the priority. Enhanced Vaults extend into liquid restaking tokens, Pendle principal tokens and Ethena products, seeking additional yield with a wider risk profile.
The distinction lets a treasury team choose a mandate without assuming every onchain dollar strategy carries the same risk. It also puts the work of identifying collateral and monitoring liquidity inside the product design, which is precisely where institutions usually need more than a protocol interface.
Galaxy’s $1.4 Billion Loan Book Backs the Risk Pitch
Galaxy is positioning the vaults as an extension of its lending and trading operation. It says the collateral standards, exposure limits and market monitoring used in those businesses also govern its curation practice, though the firm did not publish the precise vault limits, allocation rules or stress-test thresholds.
That is a useful constraint for readers assessing the announcement. The $1.4 billion average loan book and more than $3 billion of staked assets are company-level operating figures, not assets deposited in Galaxy Curator or proof that a vault can absorb a particular redemption. Likewise, Fireblocks’ 2,400-plus institutional clients are potential users of the distribution channel, not confirmed subscribers.
Curated vaults are emerging as the layer between permissionless lending markets and institutions that need documented controls. Rather than lend directly into every available market, a client can opt into a defined mandate and evaluate the curator’s disclosures, collateral choices and performance. Galaxy’s curation site lists actively curated vaults and their disclosed allocations, while the launch announcement describes the broader institutional offering.
The model resembles the shift already visible in tokenized funds, where access and controls are often as important as the underlying asset. Daily Crypto Briefs reported on JPMorgan’s tokenized money-market fund, another example of large finance firms focusing on product rails and distribution rather than treating blockchain use as a standalone trading feature.
Institutional Stablecoin Yield Still Carries Protocol Risk
The launch arrives as stablecoin balances have become working capital for trading firms, funds and treasuries, yet compliance and operations teams often leave those balances idle between settlement windows. Galaxy’s case is that existing Fireblocks controls make a measured DeFi allocation easier to administer.
But a familiar control layer does not change the underlying exposures. Quality Vaults are narrower in collateral scope, not risk-free. Enhanced Vaults deliberately add assets with different liquidity and liquidation behavior. Market moves, smart-contract failures and withdrawal pressure can all affect results, and Galaxy did not disclose a yield target that would let readers compare reward with those risks.
The offering therefore is a distribution development, not evidence of an institutional rush into every DeFi strategy. It makes managed access available to a broad potential client base; whether that converts into durable deposits will depend on transparent allocations, realized performance, liquidity terms and how the vaults behave during stress.
Fear & Greed Index
July 18, 2026The next meaningful disclosures are likely to be aggregate assets under management, vault-level allocations and capacity, withdrawal terms, named client use or additional distribution partners. Until then, the confirmed fact is narrower: Galaxy has put an institutional curation layer around Morpho strategies inside Fireblocks Earn, not guaranteed a stablecoin return or launched a new custody product.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Galaxy Curator?
Galaxy Curator is Galaxy Digital's institutional vault curation offering built on Morpho. It is designed to let eligible institutions access curated onchain yield strategies through Fireblocks Earn.
How many institutions can access Galaxy Curator through Fireblocks?
Galaxy said Fireblocks Earn gives more than 2,400 institutional clients access to the offering. That figure describes the available Fireblocks client base, not the number of institutions that have deposited into Galaxy vaults.
What are Galaxy's Quality and Enhanced Vaults?
Quality Vaults use markets backed exclusively by blue-chip collateral with capital preservation as the priority. Enhanced Vaults can use liquid restaking tokens, Pendle principal tokens and Ethena products, which gives them a wider risk profile.
Does Galaxy Curator guarantee stablecoin yield?
No. Galaxy says its vaults carry market, smart-contract and liquidity risk. The announcement did not disclose guaranteed returns, a fixed yield, client deposits or capacity.
Do Fireblocks clients hand custody to Galaxy?
Galaxy said assets remain at the protocol level and that users do not delegate control to Galaxy. Access through Fireblocks Earn uses the approval, transaction-signing and policy controls clients already operate.
